Rabbi Tuvia Goldstein
Rabbi Goldstein grew up in
Northeast Philadelphia, where he attended Politz Hebrew Academy, in the
City’s Bustleton section. After graduating from Politz, he pursued his
rabbinical training at Yeshiva Darchei Torah in Far Rockaway, New York,
under the guidance of the venerable Rabbi Yaakov Bender. Following
completion of yeshiva high school and rabbinical college at Darchei
Torah, Rabbi Goldstein continued his studies, doing post-graduate work
at the Meir and Shaarei HaTalmud, both in Jerusalem.
Rabbi Goldstein is
well-known in the Philadelphia Jewish community. He and his brother,
Rabbi Gedalia Goldstein, founded and continue to direct Camp Achdus, a
highly regarded summer day camp which now serves more than sixty boys
from the Philadelphia area.
Rabbi Goldstein is also
part of the staff of rabbis at Philadelphia Community Kollel, which
fosters Jewish education and awareness through an energetic program of
Torah study and teaching. In addition, he is on staff at Congregation
Beth Hamedrosh in Wynnewood, where he teaches adult and youth classes,
and runs a very successful teen program.
Rabbi Goldstein is a valued
teacher and friend to many in the Jewish community. In both his
teaching and his personal counsel, Rabbi Goldstein combines his
knowledge and rabbinic training with his genuine warmth and engaging
personality.
In recognition of his many
contributions to the Philadelphia Jewish community, Rabbi Goldstein was
recently honored by Politz Academy as its Distinguished Alumnus for
2009.
Rabbi Goldstein’s greatest
joys are his wife, Chani, and his 8-month old daughter Brocha.
